Folk Art = Non-professionally Trained

Did you know? Folk art is classified as any art made in a culture where artists are not professionally trained.

Suppressed by Soviet art institutions imposed upon their country, Moldovans retaliated with rural art.  This art ranges from ceramics to paintings to grass dolls and pottery.  Folk art generally is not influenced by social and political movements, and therefore is a great indication of Moldova's history.
